A symposium showcasing local talent and international best practice. This event will provide delegates with a platform from which to explore how their museum could use games and play to create meaningful visitor engagement, and will provide game developers with an insight into emerging opportunities to work with museums and arts organisations both in Northern Ireland and internationally.

Engaging Visitors Through Play builds on the #ArtsNI series of digital meet ups held in Belfast, during 2012 and seeks to foster exciting, relevant and challenging conversations, collaborations and professional development opportunities for those working in and with museums and arts organisations.

The symposium will be followed by a #drinkingaboutmuseums pub meetup between 17:00 -19:00. Similar pub meetups have been held around the world from Australia to America, they provide an informal setting to discuss ideas and develop collaborations with like-minded people. Open to all, the Belfast event will allow speakers and delegates to discuss interesting ideas that have emerged during the symposium over a beer

This is the Museums Computer Group’s first event in Northern Ireland in decades and provides delegates with the opportunity to connect with and learn more about an organisation that connects, supports and inspires those working in and with museums across the UK.
